Next Sunday is World Mission Sunday which is the Holy Father’s annual appeal to support oversea mission and missionaries. This fund supports missionary activities in over 1,100 young dioceses, mostly in Africa, Asia and Latin America. These dioceses are to be found in remote areas devastated by conflict or natural disasters.
Next Sunday’s collection provides aid so that missionaries can continue to go to these places to share the love of God. Some of the local Holy Rosary Community will address the congregation at all Masses. The Share Collection will be replaced by a collection for Mission Sunday.

To facilitate contactless payments to the weekly Offertory and Share Collections we have installed two tap and go machines in the church. These machine are for the Sunday Offertory and Share Collections only and not for donations to the parish.

A Prayer for Our Earth
All powerful God,
you are present in the universe
and in the smallest of your creatures.
You embrace with your tenderness all that exists.
Pour out upon us the power of your love,
that we may protect life and beauty.
Fill us with your peace, so that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one.
O God of the poor,
help us to rescue the abandoned
and forgotten of this earth,
so precious in your eyes.
Bring healing to our lives,
that we may protect the world and not prey on it,
that we may sow beauty,
not pollution and destruction.
Touch the hearts
of those who look only for gain
at the expense of the poor and the earth.
Teach us to discover the worth of each thing,
to be filled with awe and contemplation,
to recognize that we are profoundly united
with every creature
as we journey towards your infinite light.
We thank you for being with us each day.
Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle,
for justice, love and peace.
A Prayer for Our Earth was published in Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si’.

Prayer for Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
Come to me Lord, come at least spiritually into my heart,
and unite my soul completely to You.
Never let me be separated from You.
Amen.

A Prayer in the Time of the Coronavirus
Almighty and All–loving God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
we pray to you through Christ the Healer
for those who suffer from the Coronavirus Covid–19
in Ireland and across the world.
We pray too for all who reach out to those who mourn the loss
of each and every person who has died as a result of contracting the disease.
Give wisdom to policymakers,
skill to healthcare professionals and researchers,
comfort to everyone in distress
and a sense of calm to us all in these days of uncertainty and distress.
This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord
who showed compassion to the outcast,
acceptance to the rejected
and love to those to whom no love was shown.
Amen.
