Collections

Thank you for your contributions to last Sunday’s collections. The Offertory Collection amounted to €1450 and the Share Collection amounted to €1045.

Today is Mission Sunday. Contributions given to World Mission Sunday will support the fearless and selfless work of our missionaries, who live shoulder – to – shoulder with people in communities that are struggling and often war torn. The collection for Mission Sunday will replace today’s Share collection.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE

On next Sunday, October 28th, (the Bank Holiday Weekend) the Dublin City Marathon will be running down Milltown Road from approximately 10.00
a.m. until 2.30 p.m. on that Sunday.We are advised that there will be “rolling road closures” during this period.  Effectively this means that there will be
no access by car directly to Milltown Road and the Church for the Sunday morning Masses that day.

Pedestrian access may be possible so we will celebrate Mass as usual at 10.00 am and 11.30 am For those who need direct access to the Church by car may we suggest coming to the Saturday evening Mass at 6.00 pm or the Sunday evening Mass at 5.30 pm.

 

The Focolare Community

We wish to let you know that ‘The Focolare Community’ have recently moved house and are no longer based in our parish. We wish them well in their new home and offer them our sincere thanks for their contribution to the life and work of our parish in their years here with us. Members of their group served
on our Parish Pastoral Council and in our choir and also made a special contribution to children’s liturgies. They provided much support for the ministry of prayer and spirituality especially through their ‘Word of Life’ Group. They will be greatly missed for the welcome and hospitality they provided. We wish to assure them of our continuing prayers and best wishes as they continue their mission and service of the church.

 

Fr. Alan’s Parish Prayer Group meet on Monday afternoons in the Parish Pastoral Centre at 3pm. This group will be exploring Prayer, Mindfulness and finding God in our lives.

On Thursday, November 1 st an Art Sale will be opened in St. Philip’s Church Hall, Temple Road Dartry. The Guest speaker will be Josepha Madigan, Minister for Culture, Heritage & the Gaeltacht. The exhibition will continue over the weekend on Friday from 12-7, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 12.30 – 4pm.

I.C.A.

The next meeting of the Milltown Guild of the I.C.A. will take place at 8pm on Thursday November 1 st . At this meeting a play called Galway Girl will be performed. The play is adapted from the book by Geraldine Aron. The performance is sponsored by Dublin City Council. Non I.C.A. members are welcome to attend.

Annual Bethany Mass

The Parish’s Annual Bethany Mass for those whose funerals took place here during the past 12 months will be celebrated at 6pm on Saturday, November 3rd. Parishioners are invited to forward us the names of their recently  departed relatives and friends whom they wish to have remembered at this Mass. Please contact the Parish Office if you are available to help with the reception which will be held in the Parish Pastoral Centre after this Mass.

Active Retirement Group

On Thursday, November 8 th the Parish’s Active Retirement Group are hosting a Music Appreciation afternoon called ‘Past Times – Music of the 60’s’ in the Parish Pastoral Centre. This will begin at 2.30pm. This event is sponsored by Dublin City Council.
